Harold L. Tanner ATC



[Webmaster's Rememberance: Tanner AT1 was on my Shangri La Detachment in 1961. He was always "squared away" and very mild mannered. I don't ever remember him swearing.]

Crystal River
Harold Lee Tanner, 75, Crystal River, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at the Hospice Care Unit at Citrus Memorial Health System in Inverness.

Mr. Tanner was born Aug. 20, 1932, in Micco to Tom and Clara Tanner and moved here in 1986 from California.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, having retired as chief petty officer with 20 years of service.

Mr. Tanner attained his captain's license and enjoyed fishing and building custom fishing rods. He cherished his family and had many friends.

He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ in Inverness.

His sister, Betty, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Linda Tanner; son, Mike Tanner and wife Sue of San Diego, Calif.; three daughters, Leslie Howard and husband Rick of Vero Beach, Laurie Henry and husband Mark of Marietta, Ga., and Mary Floyd-Colvett and husband John of Ethridge, Tenn.; three stepsons, Dennis Floyd and wife Emily of Nephi, Utah, Stephan Floyd and wife Tammy of Jacksonville and Kevin Floyd of Glendale, Ariz.; sister, Charlotte Williams of Watkinsville, Ga.; and 12 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ of Inverness or Hospice of Citrus County.
