* As for Maj Caudry I can recall that he was a nice officer, was well respected, good pilot,liked by all or at least most, easy going, left people alone and didn't interfere if nothing serious was going on with the inmates. I think he was only with us for half the cruise,. He was as I
recall an exchange pilot. But it seems to me that he was on the 64 - 65 FDR cruise because he is in the detachment photo which I am sending along. . Greg Engler

**The bird was a replacement aircraft painted by VFP-63. I flew it from San Diego and landed it aboard the Shang cruising in the Med near Naples. I made fuel stops at Tinker AFB, Oceana, Bermuda, inflight over the Atlantic, Lages, and Rota prior to final leg to Shang.
